"Gertrude" -- Paper Sculpture by Gay Pogue
3 x 6 inches, pens and markers on paper
“Get over yourself and get on with it,” Gertrude snapped without so much as a hint of a smile. Her eyes glared at Ace who was still lolling in his bed of pink tulle. He had been moaning about all the work he should be doing and how his head ached from over-indulgences the night before. This time it had been 85% chocolate that Gay had left lying on the kitchen table.
Gertrude came to Galveston recently all the way from Denmark. After flying and hitching rides on trains, she boarded an ocean liner in the Mediterranean before it repositioned to the Port of Galveston. She was searching for a warmer climate.
Our sharp-tongued lady does not waste any words beating around the bush as Angel Snakes from the southern United States do. With her rapier wit, she strikes quickly at the heart of any problem. Those around her either love her or hate her, either keep up with her or quickly fall behind.
Wings Up!!!
MadillaPS: We are all a bit fearful of what she will say to us, in front of others, no less.
PPS: You may purchase this Gertrude.
